A cool grey day out on the course today but that doesn’t seem to have deterred the Grumpies.
Carts are still not allowed on the course but hopefully over the next couple of days that will change – an email will be sent out informing you when they can go out again.
When you book a tee time (particularly at the weekend) by all means come early for a warm up/practice but please do not expect to go before your allotted tee time.
Results from last week: Grumpies played a Stableford round with Mr Captain, Andy Morison, taking the money with 36 points, closely followed by Rob Lopez 35 and Sandy Bidwill 34 points. Twos went to Malcolm Bridge and Rob Lopez who also got closest to the pin.
On Wednesday the Ladies played HPMC (Stableford) with office buddy Carol Parkinson winning with 32 points from Angela Busby, Jenny Wilkie and Sherry Weatherstone all on 30 points. Twos went to Sherry and Angela and nearest the pin on #6 was Angela and on #8 Sherry.
The 9 holers played a medal round with Sherryl Howie winning with a nett 40 from Jaquee Reid 41 and Tania Williamson nett 42. Nearest the pin on #8 was Tania.
Thursday Club had a good turnout with Andy Morison once again the winner with 36 points on a countback from Brian Russo, Richard Warren, Sandy Bidwill, Tim Loe and Chris Handley all had 34 points. Twos went to Seamus O’Sullivan (2), Sandra Petersen and Jo Loe. Nearest the pin was Rod Cranswick.
On Saturday there was a Shoot Out/Medal/Putting round with Tora Boyne leading the way with a nett 68 from Phil Collins 69 and Craig Andrews 71. Phil was the only one to get a two and Derek Stephens took out the putting on a countback with 30 putts.
On Sunday we hosted Marquis Shield with our team playing Mahunga. Wins in the singles matches went to Jason Shaw, Doug Clark, Peter Gray, Shane Hartnell and Tora Boyne and halves going to Glenn Harper and Paul McKenzie. In the fourball matches wins went to Peter Gray and Malcolm Bridge, Tora Boyne and Glenn Harper and Shane Hartnell and Paul McKenzie halved their match. With one round left to play it is very tight at the top of the leaderboard with our boys needing a good result in the final round.
That’s all for this week – fingers crossed for some drier/warmer weather.
