Hello Golfers.
The Saturday and Sunday competition was Stableford – On Saturday, 1st on a count back was John Monaghan, 2nd Chris Brooks both on 36, and 3rd was Emily Loughnan on 34. There was one Two on #8 – Chris Brooks. On Sunday, our winners all scored 38, but on a count back 1st Jo-Anne Loe, 2nd Doug Clark, and 3rd Guy Walmsley. There were three Twos, Doug Clark on #6, and Malcolm Bridge won the Birds Nest with Twos on #6 and #8.
This weekend the Saturday and Sunday comp is Medal/Putting on 15 & 16 June and Shoot Out Rounds 11 & 12.
9-hole ladies – played a Stableford round last week. The winners were 1st Tania Williamson 21 on count back from 2nd Lizzy Thompson on 21 also, 3rd Ali Russell on 20. Nearest the pin on #8 was Mary Herrick and on #16 (second shot) Susie Shaw.
18-hole ladies Results from the LGU and Putting round on Wednesday 5 June – 1st Karen Shaw with a net 70, 2nd Sarah Monaghan with 71, 3rd Jenny Wilkie with 74, 4th Deidre Thomsen with 76 and 5th Adele Cairns with 77. Closest to the pin were Honor Clark and Jenny Wilkie. Felicity Warren won the Putting Competition with 26 putts.
Another fabulous raffle from Angela Busby … The raffle will be a little different. $10 a ticket – there will be three draws for:
• a birdfeeder built and kindly donated by Richard Pither (Bernadette’s husband)
• a rockfish artwork by Angela Busby
• a yellowhead (bird) artwork by Angela Busby
The raffle will be open to all club members and visitors. The three items will be on display in the Clubhouse soon. The raffle will run for a month and will be drawn on Wednesday 10 July.
All proceeds will go to the Clubhouse fundraiser. As an aside, some of Angela’s artwork is currently on display behind reception at Aratoi. Pop in and have a look! (Nicola Warren)
Grumpies – Results from the Stableford round on Tuesday 4 June – 1st Malcolm Wood 40 points, 2nd on a count back Ed Elworthy 38 points, 3rd Bruce Sollitt also 38 points. The Twos were Robbie Walters on #6, Brian Russo and Bob Schofield on #8, and Malcolm Wood on #16.
Thursday Club – Stableford results from Thursday 6 June – 1st Steve Croft on a count back from Doug Clark, Bruce Sollitt, and Malcolm Wood all on 38 points, 5th Arthur Warren on a count back from Alistair Petrie both on 37 points. Nearest the Pin was George Kirk, and Twos were Johnny Gray and Malcolm Wood on #6, Ed Brown on #8, and Chris Ranish on #12.
Sunday Club – Be ready for the Draw at 9.55am.
