Hello Golfers.
The Saturday and Sunday competition was Par – On Saturday we had two players and no Twos. 1st Chris Ranish -2, 2nd Guy Walmsley -3. On Sunday we had 24 players, 1st Brian Russo +3, 2nd Emily Loughnan +2, 3rd Doug Clark +1. Twos were Olivia Clark and Honor Clark on #8, and John Warner on #12.
Competition for Saturday 21 September is Medal/Putting and Round 21 of the Shoot Out. The AB Martin Mixed Foursomes is on Sunday 22 September.
36 Hole Strokeplay Championship was played on 14 September – 1st (from Div 2) Shayne Hammond Net 144, 2nd (from Div 2) Alistair Boyne Net 148, 3rd Charlie Jackson (from Div 1) Net 149.
Grumpies – Results from the Stableford round on Tuesday 10 September – There was a fabulous turnout of 31 players – 1st Chris Ranish 37 points, 2nd on a countback Bob Tosswill 36, 3rd Malcolm Bridge 36. Malcolm also scored a Two on #6, and on #12 Graham Wilson scored a Two.
9-hole ladies – The 9-hole ladies played Thurlow 4BBB round on Wednesday. First equal with 23 Stablefords – Jane Fanselow-Price & Michele Falleni, and Alison Russell & Lizzy Thomson, closely followed by Billie Holmes & Kay Harvey on 22. PGG Wrightson Nearest the Pin #8 Lizzy Thomson, and #16 Tania Williamson. It was a lovely day on the course 😎
18-hole ladies – Results from Wednesday 11 September Stableford – 1st Bernadette Pither 40 points, 2nd Deidre Thomsen 36 points, 3rd Sandra Petersen 32 points, 4th Juliana Allen on a countback 31 points, 5th Karen Shaw 31 points. Closest to the Pin on #6 Jenny Wilkie, #8 Adele Cairns. Carol Parkinson scored a Two on #6, Adele Cairns on #8, and Bernadette Pither on #16.
Currently there are 62 ladies playing in the Wairarapa Women’s 4BBB on Wednesday 25 September. Can we reach 70? Keep spreading the word.
Thursday Club – Stableford results from Thursday 12 September – 1st Gavin Redmond 38 points, 2nd Alistair Boyne 37 points, 3rd on a countback Kane Sim 36 points, followed by Rob McCreary also on 36 points. Twos – on #6 Bruce Sollitt, on #8 Pete Price, Malcolm Wood, and Alistair Petrie, and on #12 Gavin Redmond. Nearest the Pin was Ray Matthews.
