Hello Golfers.

Entries are still open for the Men’s 36/54 Hole Open this weekend, and there are spaces available in both competitions. Flyer attached.

The Saturday & Sunday competition was Medal/Putting – On Saturday there were 9 entries, 1st Brent McKinlay 74 Net, 2nd Jason Shaw 79 Net on a countback from 3rd Seanoa Isaac 79 Net. Brent McKinlay and John Warner won the Putting with 31 putts. On Sunday there were 32 entries, 1st Seanoa Isaac 69 Net, 2nd Derek Stephens 70 Net, 3rd Emily Loughnan 71 Net. The Putting was won by Derek Stephens with 26 putts, and the only Two of the day was Davis Lester Clarke on #8.

There are no Competitions for Saturday & Sunday 5 & 6 October due to the Men’s 36/54 Hole Open.

Grumpies – Results from the Par round on Tuesday 24 September – 1st Andrew McKenzie +1, 2nd Kieran McGoverin even, 3rd Ray Matthews -1. Twos were Pete Price on #6, and on #8 Rick Hargreaves and Rob McCreary.

9-hole ladies – Results from Wednesday 25 September – had a fun Away Day.

Congratulations winners. Thank you all for playing and special mention to the many of you who played with members of other clubs. Emily Loughnan & Karen Shaw both won balls for scoring a Two. A great effort given the difficulty reading the greens!

Thursday Club – Stableford results from Thursday 26 September – 1st John Monaghan 38 points, 2nd Bevan Sweeney 37 points, 3rd Steve Croft on a countback 36 points. Nearest the Pin was Malcolm Bridge, and Twos were on #16 for Jason Shaw and Malcolm Bridge.

Sunday Club – are playing at Carterton 10am. Please txt Brian 027 777 8770 if you’re going as Carterton will open the bar if there are enough players.

Martinborough Squash Club Casino Night fundraiser – Saturday 5 October 2024 – Martinborough Town Hall – $50/ticket.

Your sporting neighbours are holding a Casino Night to raise funds towards the exterior clubhouse repair and upgrade. Don’t just complain about how the squash courts look against the golf club’s new building. Help the small active membership to get that painting done. Get a group together, pull on your fancy dress (Great Gatsby theme) and have a great time. Professional croupiers running the tables. Some casino chips, a drink and supper included in ticket price.
