Hello Golfers
Ladies Champion of Champions – The competition was held at Martinborough on Sat 22 Nov. Congratulations to Kelly Taylor, Lisa-Marie Ireland, and Olivia Clark for coming 3rd in the teams event. Wellington came 1st, and two of their three players are aged 12 and 13 years! Olivia had 21 points and she came 2nd in the Bronze Gross with her score of 90.
Mens Champion of Champions – Our Men’s team, Malcolm Bridge, Josh Hawkins, and Freddie Gloag represented us at Mahunga on Sun 23 Nov. Information to hand is that Freddie & Malcolm both scored 89, and my office buddie, Molly, was Freddie’s caddy.
9-hole Ladies – That’s a wrap for 2025. On Wednesday the 12th we joined the 18-hole ladies for our closing day golf, lunch and AGM. It was a fun day with much merriment. The AGM saw our outgoing Co Captains Jane Fanselow Price and Tingay Davidson hand over to incoming Co Captains Sarah Harvey and Tania Williamson.
On Wednesday the 19th we hosted our Xmas cheer with the theme “Martinborough Cup”. 6 holes of fun golf with a Racing theme was played – best dressed Sherryl Howie and runner up Lola Kiel. This was followed by a change of outfits for the “Fashion in the Field” luncheon. Fashion in the Field winners Leonie Wilde, Jo Guscott, and Helen Willams set a glamorous tone for the afternoon. Thanks so much to Tennessee, Tucky, Tamyka & Molly for hosting a fantastic day of celebrations.
Bidwill/Leckie Cup – Our team of 24 headed to Royal Wellington on Sun 23 Nov to attempt to retain the cup. Unfortunately they didn’t win it back this year. Bring on 2026 at Martinborough GC.
This brings me to the Baarrbraa Trophy being held at Eketahuna GC this Sun 30 Nov. Tee off is midday. Please reconfirm numbers as soon as possible for catering purposes. Unfortunately, the bus is no longer running, so please carpool with your golf buddies and make arrangements to defend the unique sheep 
trophy that is in our cabinet.
Remember the Fundraiser for Junior Golf is happening on Friday 12 Dec. Tee off at 8.30am or 1pm. The competition is Best 3 of 4 Stableford. First prize is accommodation for four in Taupo/Kinloch with a game including carts at Kinloch and Centennial. You don’t want to miss out on the chance of winning this fantastic prize, while supporting Junior Golf at the same time – winner, winner.

Thursday Club – 20 Nov Stableford results – 1st Robbie Walters, Trevor Petersen, Chris Ranish, Rob Smith 40 points, 2nd Peter Schenk, Shane Hislop 39 points, 3rd Doug Clark 38 points. Twos for James Elworthy, Dayle Scrimshaw #8, Kambel Barham (Riversdale Beach) #16. Nearest the Pin for James Elworthy.
