Lovely conditions for golf today so surprised there aren’t as many Grumpies out as usual.

Coming up on Friday we have the St John’s Ambrose so the course will be closed.  If you are playing and you have a team change please let either Terry Blacktop or myself know asap – do not tell me on Friday morning unless you like being growled at!!

Results from last week:  Grumpies played a Par round with Arthur Warren taking the money on +4, Doug Ferguson +2 and Jason Burt and Greg Dalton square.  Twos went to Jason Shaw and Pete Price.

On Wednesday the Ladies played a Stableford round with Katrina Burgess winning with 37 points from Alison Tipler, Marilyn MacKenzie, Sherry Weatherstone and Jenny Wilkie all on 36 points.  Nearest the pins went to Katrina on #6 and Sherry on #8 and Katrina was the only one to get a two.

The 9 holers played first round of Thurlow 4BBB with Jill Murphy and Jane Fanselow-Price leading the way with 27 points and Jo Guscott and Tania Williamson on 24 points.

Not a lot out playing last Thursday but the winner on the day was Rick Gerrand with 37 points, Sandy Bidwill 36, George Kirk 35 and Andy Morison and Ro Griffiths 34 points.  Twos went to Vern Anton, Malcolm Wood, Andy Morision and Rick who got 2 and also nearest the pin.

The Competitions this weekend were Par and on Saturday John Warner won on +3, Scott Reid square and Peter Schenk -1.  Twos went to John and Peter.  On Sunday Phil Eberlein took the money on +1 on a countback from Tony Taylor and Stu Taplin square.  Twos went to Stu and Matt Thomas.

On Sunday it was the first round of Marquis Shield where the boys were playing at Eketahuna against Pahiatua – not the best start to the season but onwards and upwards!!

On Monday the Silver pennants team were at Paraparaumu playing Shandon where Anna Possenniskie and Debbie Donaldson both halved their matches and won their 4 ball.  We won’t mention how the rest of us got on!!!

The Bronze pennants team were at Judgeford playing Boulcotts Farm where Marilyn MacKenzie had a great win, Julie Weber halved her match and Alison Tipler won her match.

This Saturday Div 3 are playing at Wainuiomata and Div 11 are at Trentham – good luck to both teams.

That’s it for this week – have a good one.
