Tuesday Tome 5th July 2022

I would like to start by thanking those of you who turned up to help with the working bee yesterday morning – it is looking very tidy around the clubhouse and car park – a job well done.

Before I give the results from last week can I please remind you all that if there is a frost there is no play allowed before 9.30am – this rule applies to everyone – members and visitors alike.

Results from last week:  Grumpies played a Par round with Brian Russo taking the money on +3, Bill Gordon +2, Andrew McKenzie +1 and Seamus O’Sullivan square.  The only 2 of the day went to Greg Dalton.

On Wednesday the 9 holers had a Putting round with Ali Russell the winner with 16 putts from Sherryl Howie, Sandra Burgess and Leonie Wilde all with 17 putts.

The 18 holers played Shoot Out/Medal/Putting with Pamela Messervy winning with a nett 73, Marion McKenzie 75, Jane Terpstra and Sherry Weatherstone 77 and Ju Allen 79.  Nearest the pin on #8 was Nicola Warren and no one managed to hit the green on #6 and there were no twos.  Winner of the putting with 28 putts was Marion McKenzie.

Once again Thursday Club had a good turnout with Bill Gordon taking the money with 40 points, Brent McKinlay, Pete Griffiths, Greg Dalton and Shayne Hammond all with 36 points.  Twos went to Ed Elworthy, Doug Clark, Malcolm Wood and Andy Morison.  Doug Clark also won the Martinborough Brewery Voucher for nearest the pin on #8.

The weekend competitions were both Par rounds with John Warner the winner on Saturday on +3 and Seamus O’Sullivan and Robin Brasell both on -1.  Seamus was the only one to get a two.

On Sunday it was Jason Shaw’s day coming in on +3 from Doug Clark +2, Colin Whibley-Smith +1 and Dayle Scrimshaw, Stu Taplin and Malcolm Wood all finishing square.  Twos went to Jason, Brian Russo, Derek Stephens and Julie Dondertman.

This weekend is the final round of Marquis Shield where the men are playing at Pahiatua against Masterton – good luck guys and it would be good if you could bring some silverware home!!!
