Grumpies – Stableford 14 Jul – 1st: Arthur Warren 36 points, 2nd: Sandy Bidwill, Andy Morison 35 points, 3rd: Andrew McKenzie 34 points. Twos for Seamus O’Sullivan #4, and Jason Shaw #10.
Ladies –
9 holes – 14 hardy souls ventured out on a sunny morning with very soggy conditions underfoot. The mud splashes on the golf gear/clothing was proof the conditions were challenging.
Best nett 1st: Sarah Harvey on 39, 2nd Alison Russell on 41, 3rd Lizzy Thomson on 41. Stableford 1st: Sarah Harvey, 2nd Janet Chilton, 3rd Jo Guscott, all on 15. Closest to the pin was Sarah (talk about a sweep!!!).
18 holes – Results from last week. The ladies asked me not to publish the scores as it was a tough day at the office. 1st: Jenny Wilkie, 2nd Alison Tipler, 3rd Karen Delehanty. Nearest the Pin #10 Jenny Wilkie and on # 16 no-one. Sadly there were no Twos.
Thursday Club – Stableford 16 Jul – 1st: all on 36 points Matt Thomas, Andy Darling, Stu Taplin, Malcolm Wood, 2nd: Chris Ranish 35 points, 3rd: Sandy Bidwill, Arthur Warren 34 points. Two twos for Matt Taplin (Takapuna) on #8 & #16, Ben Masters #4, Shane Hislop, Malcolm Wood, Rob Smith, Bob Lindberg #8, Stu Taplin, Matt Thomas #16. Nearest the Pin on #10 Chris Brooks.

Part 6 of 6. Golf Etiquette. Care of the course –
Bunkers: Before leaving a bunker, players should carefully fill up and smooth over all holes and footprints made by them and any nearby footprints made by others. If a rake is within reasonable proximity of the bunker, the rake should be used for this purpose.
Repair of divots, ball-marks and damage by shoes: Players should carefully repair any divot holes made by them and any damage to the putting green made by the impact of a ball (whether or not made by the player himself). On completion of the hole by all players in the group, damage to the putting green caused by golf shoes should be repaired.
Preventing unnecessary damage: Players should avoid causing damage to the course by removing divots when taking practice swings or by hitting the head of a club into the ground, whether in anger or for any other reason. Players should ensure that no damage is done to the putting green when putting down bags or the flagstick. In order to avoid damaging the hole, players and caddies should not stand too close to the hole and should take care during the handling of the flagstick and the removal of a ball from the hole. The head of a club should not be used to remove a ball from the hole. Players should not lean on their clubs when on the putting green, particularly when removing the ball from the hole. The flagstick should be properly replaced in the hole before the players leave the putting green. Local notices regulating the movement of golf carts should be strictly observed.
