Tuesday Tome 25th April 2023

Beautiful day today with a steady stream of green fee players enjoying the sunshine.

This weekend is looking reasonably busy with green fee bookings so please make sure to book if you are coming down to play.

The Marquis Shield team are away at Masterton on Sunday playing against Pahiatua – good luck to everyone.

Don’t forget to get your entry in for the Beef & Burgundy Ambrose on Friday 5th May.

Results from last week:  Grumpies played a Stableford round with Greg Dalton taking the money with 41 points, Paul Riddiford 39, Guy Walmsley 38 and Brett Abercrombie 37 points and there were no twos.

Despite the variable weather last week the 9 holers managed to get some golf in.  On Monday a number of them went to Otaki to play in their Open Day.  Debbie Coom came 4th in Division 1 and Lizzy Thomson 2nd in Division 2.  On Wednesday and Thursday 7 players went over to Feilding to play in their 9 + 9 event.  Apparently the weather was so bad that Jane Fanselow-Price had puddles in her golf bag pockets!!  Billie Holmes was the overall winner and Debbie was 2nd in 1st Division and Lizzy again did well in the 2nd Division and Jane did very well winning numerous raffle prizes.

No Thursday Club last week as the greens were being cored.

On the weekend the competition was Medal/Putting and Shoot Out.   No one played on Saturday and the winner on Sunday was Brent McKinlay with nett 73, Doug Clark and Ed Brown 74 and Brian Russo 76.   Brent also won the putting with 27 putts.  Twos went to Brent and Alec Dondertman.

Finally, can I please remind you to read the screen when you are printing your card – do not tick for the competition if you have not put your name in the book and paid your money – when you do this it makes the Rottweiler snarl!!

That’s it for another week – have a good one.
