Not sure what the weather is up to today – sun keeps trying to shine and then there is a sprinkling of rain!!

We have a member who is looking for a second hand set of ladies golf clubs – if you have a set you would like to part with please contact the office.

Results from last week:  Grumpies played a Stableford round with Tony Taylor winning with 38 points on a countback from Seamus O’Sullivan, JD Smith 37 and Malcolm Wood 35 points.   Twos went to Tiawharangi Aranui and Seamus.

On Wednesday the 9 holers played a Par round with Tania Williamson leading the way on +3, Debbie Coom +2 and Lizzy Thomson +1.

The 18 holers played LGU/Shoot Out/Captains Trophy Qualifier Rnd 1.  Katrina Burgess had a good round finishing with a nett 66, Julie Weber and Sherry Weatherstone 69 and Carol Parkinson and Bindy McLeod 71.  Twos went to Carol Parkinson, Karen Shaw, Jo Loe and Lyle Griffiths.  Nearest the pins went to Ju Allen on #6 and Lyle Griffiths on #8.

There wasn’t a huge turnout on Thursday but I don’t think Rob Coy would have been beaten as he led the way with 44 points, Bob Schofield had 40, Malcolm Bridge 35, Brian Russo, Matt Thomas, Chris Ranish and Wayne Phelps all had 34 points.  Wayne was the only one to get a two and nearest the pin went to Jason Shaw.

At the weekend the competitions were Medal/Putting and Shoot Out.  On Saturday Paul McKenzie was the winner with a nett 73 from John Warner on 75.   They were also the only ones to get twos.

On Sunday Brian Russo was the winner with a nett 71, Richard Mills 72 and Shayne Cater 73.  Twos went to Shayne, Glenn Harper and Emily Loughnan.

Can I please remind everyone to read the screen before you print your card – it doesn’t put the office staff in a good mood if they are having to go through and take people out of the competition when they haven’t entered!!!  Also, weekend competitions – there are no gimmes.

Last week the 9 holers played interclub at Kapiti against Paraparaumu where Debbie Coom won here match and Tingay Davidson halved hers.

This Friday we are hosting Riverside Cup so if you are booked to play please note that they will be teeing off the 1st and 9th tees respectively.  On Saturday the Interclub boys are playing at Kapiti and Trentham and on Monday the Silvers are at Royal Wellington and the Combo team is at Boulcott Farm.

Competitions this week are:  18 holers have National Teams and the 9 holers are playing a Stableford.  On the weekend the competitions are once again Medal/Putting and Shoot Out.

That’s it for another week.
