Tuesday Tome 30th May 2023

The course is slowly drying out but unfortunately not quickly enough for those of you who require carts to play.  Can I please remind all members that GUMBOOTS are NOT acceptable footwear on the golf course.

Further to the temporary rule that you received last week regarding abnormal conditions re lost/plugged balls the same rule applies if you lose your ball amongst leaves.

Coming up this week we are hosting the Martinborough Kindergarten Ambrose Tournament on Monday 5th June – there are a few slots left if you wish to enter a team.  Registration is from 9.00am with tee off at 10.00am – please email the office.

On Monday the Combo Pennants team played their final round of interclub at Otaki where they had a great win to finish 2nd which means that they now go onto play Royal Wellington at Shandon in the final.  They won all three of their 4 ball matches and Honor Clark, Julie Weber, Angela Busby and Felicity Warren all won their games.  Congratulation ladies.

Also on Monday the 9 holers had interclub at Manor Park where they were playing Miramar.  Debbie Coom, Jenny Tosswill and Lizzy Thomson all won their matches and Tingay Davidson halved her match.

Results from last week:   Not quite as many Grumpies out playing last week and the winner was Malcolm Wood with 38 points from Brett Abercrombie and Ed Brown on 33 and Brian Russo with 32 points.  Brian, Tony Taylor and Seamus O’Sullivan all had twos.

On Wednesday a handful of ladies played HPMC (Stableford) with Sandra Petersen winning with 34 points and Kelly Taylor 27 points.  There were no twos and nearest the pin on #8 was Kelly.

The 9 holers very sensibly decided coffee was a better option than golf!!
