Hello Golfers

The 18-hole Ladies held a very successful Open Day on 14 May with a field of 58 players. Add perfect weather to great prizes and organising, along with some impressive scores, and it was a day out to remember. Bring on a bigger event in 2026. The three main prizes – the voucher for a night’s accommodation at Brackenridge were won by Pip Smith (Best Gross 82), Best Net Michelle Krause with a PB of 64, she also won the Sherry Weatherstone Cup for the Best Net. Jill Lockett won the Best Stableford with 43 points.  A new cup, The Nicola Warren Vase was awarded to Alison Tipler for the Best Stableford by a Martinborough player.

The first three placings in the two divisions won Brackenridge spa vouchers. Div 1 Alison Tipler, Paula Thomson, Jo Philps and Div 2 Jaquee Reid, Nicky Cook, Sue Valentine. They also won a bottle of wine.

The 9-hole Ladies had a fun Away Day at Eketahuna on 14 May. There was a lot of hilarity and the sheep didn’t know what had hit them (I hope not literally!). The winners were – 1st Jane Fanselow-Price, Alison Russell, and Kay Harvey, 2nd Jo Guscott and Lorraine Little, 3rd Lizzie Thomson and Gaylene Selby-Neal.

Everyone went over to the Lazy Graze afterwards and had an enjoyable lunch and more laughs.

The Marquis Shield to be held at Mahunga on Sunday had to be cancelled due to the inclement weather.
