Hello Golfers
From the Greenkeeper – please be advised that the greenkeeping staff are verti draining the greens to improve airflow through the winter period. This will take a couple of days, and they will endeavor to have play back to normal as soon as possible.
AED training– you may have noticed that we have an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) situated in the Al Fresco area and we’re organising some training sessions, around 1-2 hours duration. Please register your interest to office@mgcgolf.nz and when we have available dates and times we can book you in to attend.
18-hole Ladies – last Wednesday we had a Home Pennants Murphy Cup game. 1st Jaquee Reid with 36 stableford points, 2nd Honor Clark with 35, 3rd Carol Parkinson with 32 on a countback from Angela Busby, 5th Kelly Taylor on a countback from Jo-Anne Loe, and Nicola Warren with 31. Angela was closest to the pin on #6Closest to the pin #8 was Marion McKenzie. Carol recorded the only Two on #16.
9-hole Ladies – the 3rd round of the 4BBB Stableford competition saw some good individual scores – with Sarah Harvey leading the individual Stablefords on 18 points!
The team Stableford results on the day where as follows: 1st Sherryl Howie and Leonie Wilde on 23, 3rd on 18 Stablefords was Ali Russell and Michele Falleni, along with Sarah Harvey and the absent Tingay Davidson. Then Mary Herrick and the absent Lu Little on 16.
Individual stableford scores as follows: 1 – Sarah Harvey on 18, 2 – Sherryl Howie on 17, 3 – followed by Leonie Wilde, Ali Russell and Mary Herrick all on 16.
Grumpies Stableford results from 17 June – 1st Brent McKinlay on a countback 34 points, 2nd Davis Lester Clarke 34 points, 3rd on a countback Jason Shaw 33 points, 4th on a countback Tony Taylor 33 points, 5th on a countback Peter Schenk 33 points, 6th Brian Russo 33 points. Twos for Chris Ranish #6, Davis Lester Clarke and Jason Shaw #8.
Thursday Club Stableford results from 19 June – 1st on a countback Davis Lester Clarke 35 points, 2nd Brian Russo 35 points, 3rd Tim Loe 34 points, 4th to 9th all on 33 points in the following order Duane McFarlane, Johnson Williams, Malcolm Bridge, Gavin Redmond, and Seanoa Isaac. Nearest the Pin – Shane Hislop. A Two for William Sargent on #6, Shane Hislop #8, and Shane Hartnell #12.
Weekend Comps – PAR results from 21 June – 1st John Warner -2, 2nd Graham Smith -3, 3rd Mark Gray -4. There were no Twos.
22 June – 1st Freddie Gloag +4, 2nd on a countback Bob Reid -1, 3rd Stu Taplin -1, 4th Sue Fox -2. A Two for Chris Ranish on #8, and Doug Clark on #12.
