Another rainy day in the Wairarapa and I am looking out at an extremely wet golf course.
Last week it dried out enough for the course to be open and on Tuesday a dozen Grumpies went out to play. The wet conditions obviously didn’t bother Bill Gordon as he was the winner with 35 points on a countback from Paul Riddiford, Tony Taylor was 3rd with 30 points. Bill was the only person who managed to get a two.
On Wednesday the Ladies played a Stableford round with Sandra Petersen winning with 30 points, Ju Allen 27, Jenny Wilkie 26 and Nicola Warren 25. No one managed to hit the green on #6 and nearest the pin on #8 went to Angela Busby. Julie Weber was the only one to get a two.
On Thursday there were a few more out playing with Tony Taylor taking the money with 38 points, Ro Griffiths 36, Glen Schofer and Doug Clark 34. Nearest the pin went to Andy Morison and twos were had by Rob Smith, Darren Bevan, Chris Ranish and Nick Allen.
The competitions at the weekend were both Par and Chris Ranish took the money on Saturday on -1. On Sunday Tora Boyne was the winner on +2, Phil Eberlein +1, Terry Fraei and Josh Hawkins -1. Twos went to Phil and Malcolm Wood.
