Tuesday Tome 26th July 2002

Another very soggy start to the week – course is now closed until further notice.

Can I please remind those of you who play on the weekend that if you are not entered in the competition to please press NO for the competition – remember – read the screen!!!

Results from last week:  Grumpies had a good turnout last Tuesday with the colourful Bob Schofield taking the money with 38 points, Sandy Bidwill, Bill Gordon, Andy Morison and Rob Lopez all on 35 points.  Twos went to Kane Sim and Jason Shaw and Ed Brown won the Martinborough Brewery voucher for nearest the pin on #8.

On Wednesday 15 intrepid ladies played a Shoot Out/Medal/Putting round with Nicola Warren leading the way with nett 78 from Ju Allen 79 and Lyle Griffiths and Adele Cairns nett 80.  Office buddy Carol Parkinson was the only one to get a two and nearest the pins went to Bindy McLeod on #6 and Carol on #8.  Bindy also won the putting with 28 putts on a countback.

Rain stopped play on Thursday as course was unplayable.

Competitions for the weekend were Stableford with Malcolm Bridge winning on Saturday with 32 points.  Sunday had a slightly larger field with Malcolm Wood winning with 35 points from Sheldon McNamara, Josh Hawkins, Brian Russo and Terry Fraei all on 34 points.  There wasn’t a single two to be had over the weekend.

That’s it for another week.
