Junior news! – If you are a Junior or have a Junior in your house, you should have received an email asking for feedback on various initiatives we have coming. We are very keen to be informed on what our Juniors want, before we finalise a proposed programme of events between now and the end of the year, and to test a big ambition for next year. Ladies –
9 holes – Results for 17 June – Best nett 1st Melissa Riddiford, 2nd Janet Chilton, 3rd Jenny Tosswill. The Howie Handicap games came down to the last hole for both the cup and the plate. Congratulations to Tania Williamson who won the last hole to take the win over a very close second, Gaylene Selby Neal. Congratulations to Janet Chilton who also took the last hole to win the plate over birthday girl Sarah Harvey.
Results for 24 June – Bring a Friend Day. We played PAR and putting, with Tania Williamson nailing it on both accounts. Tania achieved +2 points, Judy Bragan 0 and Sarah Harvey and Jo Guscott scored -1 for our PAR competition. The putting was close with the winner being Tania Williamson on 15 and Mary Herrick, Sarah Harvey and Jo Guscott all on 17.

Winner of the Putts was Karen Shaw on a Count Back with 30 Putts. NTP #4 Jo Loe, #10 Marion McKenzie and #16 Emily Loughnan. Sadly no Twos.
Thursday Club – Stableford 25 Jun – Only six hearty golfers braved the rain. Well done all. 1st: Mike Charteris 35 points, 2nd: Jason Shaw 33 points, 3rd: Matt Thomas 30 points. There were no Twos or Nearest the Pin #10.

Part 3 of 6. Golf Etiquette. Consideration for others –
Disturbance or distraction: Players should always show consideration for other players on the course and should not disturb their play by moving, talking or making unnecessary noise. Players should ensure that any electronic device taken onto the course does not distract other players. On the teeing ground: A player should not tee the ball until it is their turn to play. Players should not stand close to or directly behind the ball, or directly behind the hole, when a player is about to play. On the putting green: Players should not stand on another player’s line of putt or cast a shadow over their line of putt when they are making a stroke. Players should remain on or close to the putting green until all other players in the group have holed out. Scoring: In stroke play, a player acting as a marker should, if necessary, check the score with the player concerned and record it on the way to the next tee.
