Good turnout of grumpies today and looks like there is a slight breeze getting up to make it a bit more interesting.

Coming up this week we are hosting Wairarapa Vets on Thursday morning and we are hosting Div 3 interclub on Saturday morning so two very busy days out on the course.  Div 11 boys are playing away at Mornington – good luck to both teams.

Results from last week:  last week Grumpies played a Stableford round with Brian Russo winning on 38 points from Rick Hargreaves and Greg Dalton also on 38 and they were closely followed by Tony Taylor with 37 points.  Doug Ferguson was the only person to get a two.

On Wednesday the ladies played Nancy McCormick 4Somes over 36 holes – the winning combination was Sherry Weatherstone and Sarah Monaghan with a nett 153 closely followed by the two Julies (Weber & Dondertman) on 154 and Jo Loe and Karen Shaw were third with 156.

The 9 holers played LGU/Sue Bunt Nett/Shoot Out.  Jill Murphy was the winner with a nett 37, Tania Williamson 38, Michele Falleni 39, Sherryl Howie and Tingay Davidson 40.  Nearest the pins went to Jill Murphy #8 and Tania Williamson #16.

On Thursday the 9 hole interclub team played at Karori against Paraparaumu 2 where Tingay Davidson and Lizzie Thomson both managed to halve their matches with Jaquee Reid and Gaylene Selby Neal just losing in very close matches.

Thursday Club winner was Glen Schofer with 40 points on a countback from Bill Gordon, Doug Clark and Andrew Sim 39 points, Arthur Warren and Malcolm Wood 36 points.  Twos went to Jason Shaw, Blake Walker and Randal Warner.  Nearest the pin was Ed Elworthy.

On Friday we hosted the St Johns Ambrose with 29 teams entered.  The winning team were Seanoa Isaac, Cuong Truong, Blake Walker and Duncan Didsbury with a nett 56.62, 2nd Pete Griffiths, Paul McKenzie, Neil McKirdy and myself 56.87, 3rd Mark Childs, Jason Osborne, Jason Carruthers and Alistair Smith 57.37, 4th Ivan Karaitiana, Stu Northe, Chris Wenden, and Karl Burling 57.87, 5th Aaron Huddleston, Hamish Rees, Matthew McQuaid and Bradley Aldridge 58.12, 6th Wayne Ross, Zeb Livingston, Aaron Charteris and Ben Livingston 58.87, 7th Phil Collins, Colin Whibley-Smith, Steve Fennell and Wayne Robinson 59.87, 8th Tom McHardy, Richard Kirton, Mike Turner and Dan Juno 60 and 9th Marc Jurlina, Tim Fenwick, Richard Tosswill and Kirk Saunders 60.5.  After golf there was an auction of donated items and over $8K was raised.  Thank you to everyone who donated items for the auction, lambs for prizes and those who played – a very enjoyable day was had by all.

On Saturday the Div 3 team played at Wainuiomata where they were up against a very strong home team with Lyall Callaghan winning his match and Chris Ranish and Tim Fenwick both managing to halve theirs.

Div 11 were away at Trentham where Brent McKinlay and Tora Boyne and Pete Griffiths and Malcolm Bridge won their 4 ball matches.  In the singles Steve Croft, Tora, Pete and Jackson Gray all won their games and Malcolm Bridge halved his.

This leaves Div 3 equal 3rd and Div 11 2nd .

At the weekend a Stableford was played with George Kirk winning with 36 points from Malcolm Wood also on 36, Phil Eberlein, Terry Fraei and John Warner 35 points.  Twos went to Steven Croft, Malcolm Wood, Brian Russo, Carol Parkinson, Brent McKinlay and Dayle Scrimshaw.
