Tuesday Tome 4th October 2022

This week I am starting with some not so good news – bar prices have been increased as of Monday 3rd October.

Unfortunately due to the weather we had to cancel the Mens 54/36 Hole Open so fingers crossed for the Lamb & Chardonnay which is now full.  For those of you who have entered can you please confirm team members if you haven’t already done so.

Next Monday we are hosting 9 Hole Open Day which has a good field entered.  This is a multi tee start so if you wish to have a casual round the course will be busy until about 1pm.

Results from last week:  Grumpies played Hidden Holes Stableford and the winner on a countback was Jason Shaw from Jason Burt with 26 points, Seamus O’Sullivan 25 and Terry Blacktop and Richard Thompson 24 points.  Twos went to Raymond Matthews and Andy Morison.

On Wednesday we hosted the Ladies Wairarapa 4BBB:  Gross winners were Philippa Smith & Amy Prince 78, 2nd Sereana Phillipps & Brenda Blatchford 84, 3rd Kay Wall & Fiona McBride 85 and 4th Lorraine Inglis & Jo Philps 86.  Nett winners were Nicola Warren & Sarah Broughton 64, 2nd Sarah Monaghan & Bernadette Pither 67, 3rd Carol Parkinson & Emily Loughnan 67 and 4th Jo Loe & Karen Shaw 68.  Nearest the pins went to Ju Allen #6, Lorraine Inglis #8, Carol Drink #12 and Lorraine Inglis #16.  Twos went to Mariana McDermott, Lorraine Inglis and Jo Loe.

The 9 holers had an away day at Judgeford where they played “Putting – with a twist”.  The winners with the highest score were Tingay Davidson and Michelle Fellini with 25 putts, Kay Harvey 24 and Lizzy Thompson 22.  Landing in the lake was the nearest the pin equivalent with 3 recipients, Michelle, Tingay and Debbie Coom.  They all had a great day and the café got the thumbs up for food and atmosphere.

Thursday Club should be renamed Glen Schofer day as he not only won the competition with 37 points but also got 2 twos and nearest the pin.  2nd was Stu Taplin also on 37 points, Nick Allen, Ro Griffiths and Chris Ranish all finished with 36 points.  The other nearest the pins went to Rob Lopez who also had 2 twos, Sandra Petersen, John Thomson and Jason Shaw who eagled #14.

That’s all for this week.
