On MONDAY 14TH MARCH the greens are being cored so the course will be closed. If you have some time to spare on that day we are looking for volunteers to help with the work.
On Sunday 10th April Wellington Golf Referees Association are holding a Level 1 Golf Rules Course (details on noticeboard) at Boulcott’s Farm HGC.
This Saturday Div 3 men are playing at home against Wainuiomata and Div 11 are away at Royal Wellington. Last Saturday Div 3 had an 8/7 loss against Karori at Karori but are still leading their division and Div 11 had a magnificent win 15/0 at home against Miramar and are leading their division by 15 points!!
On Monday the Silver Pennants ladies played at Shandon against Royal Wellington Gold where they lost 5/4.
The 9 hole interclub ladies played at Royal Wellington on Thursday on the Terrace course playing Karori with Gaylene Selby Neal and Jaquee Reid both having wins.
Results from last week: Grumpies played Hidden Hole Stableford with Seamus O’Sullivan winning with 37 points from Jason Burt also on 37 points, they were closely followed by Phil Reid and Jason Shaw on 35 points. Twos went to Randal Warner and Rick Hargreaves.
On Wednesday the 18 Holers played National Teams with Julie Weber 74 nett, Ju Allen 75, Honor Clark 76 and Lyle Griffiths 77 nett. They will be representing Martinborough at the National Teams on 6th May at Te Marua. There were no twos and nearest the pins went to Felicity Warren #6 and Carol Parkinson #8.
The 9 Holers played a Stableford competition with Jill Murphy winning with 14 points on countback to Jane Fanselow-Price and Philippa Reid 13 points. Nearest the pins went to Kay Harvey #8 and Tania Williamson #16.
Thursday Club had a good turnout with 60 out playing. The winner was Rob Coy with 42 points, Ed Elworthy 40, Bill Gordon 39, Jason Burt 38, Malcolm Bridge, Sandy Bidwill and Trevor Petersen 37 points. Twos went to Mariana McDermott, Trevor Petersen, Greg Dalton, Doug Clark, Rob Coy, Shayne Hammond, Sandy Bidwill and I had two twos!! Nearest the pin went to Trevor Petersen.
No one played in the competition on Saturday but Sunday had a reasonable turnout. Competition of the day was Par with George Kirk leading the way on +2, Jason Burt and Sue Fox +1, John Warner and Malcolm Wood -1 and Derek and Karen Stephens -2. Twos went to Jason Burt and Glenn Harper.
Don’t forget it is the Featherborough tournament on Thursday 17th March and the Dick Bennett Memorial 4BBB Stableford on Sunday 20th March – let the office know if you are keen to play in either/both of these.
